Disney Dream Teen and Tween Clubs

by Tim_Jones on January 23, 2011

With all of the additional space available on the new Disney Dream, designers were able to include a new "tween" club into the Children Programming line-up.  Called Edge, the new area gives kids between the ages of 11-13 years their own space to play, create, and relax.  It's located on the 13th deck in the forward funnel and sports a loft-style atmosphere with the opportunity to play Wii, watch some shows on a big screen TV, or just relax and read some favorite books.

Perhaps the lounge's most impressive component is a state-of-the-art video wall that stretches more than 18 feet long and nearly 5 feet tall. Comprised of 18 individual LCD screens, the video wall acts as a giant screen—its separate screens can even be divided in any combination to accommodate different-sized video feeds.

Thanks to 3 green screen rooms that are located at Edge, tweens are invited to become the stars of the show. Through the use state-of-the-art video technology, they can easily superimpose their image in both photo postcards and video karaoke, ensuring an unforgettable "immersive" experience unlike any other.

Here's a video tour of the Edge tween club.

For the teens (ages 14-17), Disney Dream offers Vibe. Vibe has the look and feel of a hip urban coffee shop and stylish nightclub. Its comfortable interior is sleek and trendy while, at the same time, inviting.

Some of my favorite features of Vibe include the private pool and sun-deck just for teens, a teen night club, and restricted access to Vibe for teens and counselors only tied into their Key to the World card.

Vibe's central gathering place is a hi-tech room where teens can chill out by catching a movie on a 103-inch LCD screen with digital surround sound; the cozy, home theater-style space provides various spots for TV watching.  And for a more laid-back experience, teens can recline in individual nooks, created by built-in oval wall pods, and watch a personal video screen or play video games.

Check out this video tour of Vibe:

Next up, we'll jump back down to the little ones and check out the Disney Dream nursery, It's a Small World Nursery.

Okay heres what i thought of vibe. I am a 16 year old girl and  i loved it!!! I was in there every night till 2am for the dance parties then we went over to D-lounge and we were there till 3am+. I made over 20 new friends. The counselors are GREAT!!!! In my opinion Britney, Manwell, and Fernanda are the best by far. There is always something going on from 8am(i think) till 2am. On the second night they give you a sheet with choices of activities that you could do on the remainder of your trip. Chose wisely;) You will always know what the activities are for the day because every night in your room you will get your “personal navigator” with all the activities for everything on the boat and their times.I had the best vacation EVER on this boat and i think you dont really get the full “Disney experience” untill you take a vacation on a Disney cruise line.
