I really look forward to two events at Disney World, every year. They both combine small crowds (because attendance is very limited), lower ticket prices (and they sell out, quickly!), and holiday themes.
Even though I visit Disney World over 30 times per year, I never miss Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP). They're fantastic events that remind me why I love Disney World.
We'll talk about the Christmas party in a later post (some stores near me already have up Christmas sections! What happened to Halloween and Thanksgiving?). For now, we need to start thinking about the Halloween party.
Filled with parades, fireworks and Disney characters, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the perfect way to spend Halloween with the family! Guests of all ages are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes. Even better, you can collect delicious candy as you trick-or-treat around Magic Kingdom theme park.
This is one of the only times that Disney World allows guests to wear masks into the parks, as long as they can see your eyes. However, Disney does reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone that they feel does not dress "appropriately" for a family fun event. The tone is family-friendly, so Disney wants to keep it fun for children of all ages.
In addition to many favorite Disney attractions, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is filled with special entertainment, including:
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Tickets
Before you get too far, you need to get tickets to the party! It's not invite only, but you do need separate tickets and they do sell out! This is a separate ticket event, so your regular park pass will not get you in to the park for the event. However, as we've mentioned before, with the special event ticket, you can get in around 4PM, even though the party doesn't officially start until 7PM. Since it runs until midnight, you can get in a full 8 hours in the park with a ticket that's about half the cost of a one day pass to Magic Kingdom!
Ticket prices are as follows (including tax):
- Adult advance purchase: $57.00*†
- Child (Ages 3-9) advance purchase: $50.00*†
- At the event (if still available): Adult - $63.85/Child - $57.46
*Does not include October 29th and 31st. These are premium event dates with premium event ticket prices. Adult - $69.17 and Child - $62.78.
†These prices only available when purchased from our ticket partner, The Official Ticket Center. If you purchase in advance from another provider or Disney direct, you will pay more.
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Dates
Again, the event only occurs on certain nights in September through November. Make sure you purchase your tickets for the right night of the event, during your vacation.
This year, Disney will hold the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on the following nights.
- September 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30
- October 1, 3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, and 31
- November 1
I hope to see you at the Not So Scary Party! Tomorrow, I'll be talking about the new Disney running event that will replace last year's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 13K.
