Disney Ends The “Give A Day, Get A Day” Promotion

by admin on March 10, 2010

As of yesterday, Disney released a statement that they'd reached their goal of 1 million volunteers and had ended the "Give A Day, Get A Day" promotion.  Here's the statement from Disney:

The overwhelming support we received for the "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." program has helped us reach our goal of inspiring one million people to volunteer a day of service to their communities. The program has now ended. Although you can no longer register and sign up for volunteer opportunities on this site to earn a free Disney Theme Park ticket, you can still continue to give back to your community by locating and signing up for volunteer opportunities through HandsOn Network.

This has to be one of the shortest promotions from Disney.  According to our sources, the "birthday" promotion last year was also limited to 1 million, although it continued throughout the entire year.  Gives you some idea of how much people gave back to their communities to get a day at Disney versus just getting a day free on their birthday.

What are your thoughts on the end of this promotion?  Let us know in the comments!

That's messed up. I was just looking for an opportunity earlier this week and there weren't any in my area that I could take my kids to.
