With people trying to save money any way they can, many people have been asking us how to avoid paying for Disney parking while visiting the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.
One of the easiest ways to save this cost is by staying in a Disney resort. Of course, then you spend a bit more on your lodging, so it's may not be much of a cost savings, but there are many more cost benefits to staying on-property, too.
If you do plan to stay off-property, you can avoid the Disney parking fees by parking at Downtown Disney. Once parked at Downtown Disney, you can hop one of Disney's many shuttle busses to the resorts. Once at the resort, you can use Disney's internal transportation system to get to all four theme parks without paying the parking fees.
This will take a bit longer, however. Budget about an hour to get from Downtown Disney to the park. Also, if you plan to go to the Magic Kingdom, we recommend you ride the bus to one of the resorts on the monorail loop for the fastest time to the park, once you reach the resort.
For that matter, you'll want to consider the proximity of each resort to the park you plan to visit, that day. Take the bus to the resort closest to the park of the day. For example, I would probably ride the bus to the Beach and Yacht Club, if I were going to Epcot, since I can pretty much walk to Epcot from this resort. You probably don't want to ride the bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge if you're going to the Magic Kingdom.
While this does take more time, if you really want to find the best Disney parking solution while avoiding the Disney parking fees, this may be a good option for you.
