Welcome back!
When planning your Disney World vacation, you may have a special room request for your visit. This may be a family member celebrating a birthday or that you want a room that overlooks a certain area like a garden view. When making your room requests, the best way to make your requests is by calling the resort directly about 3 days prior your arrival. All Disney Reservations whether booked by Disney.com, Disney Reservations (by phone) or just a travel agent are held in a computer system called Central Reservations. About 5 days prior to your arrival, Central Reservations forwards your reservation to your resort. This means your resort will not even have your reservation details until right before your trip to Disney World.
If you have a special request, wait until about 3 days prior to arrival and call the resort directly. Always ask for the Front Desk or Back Office to make your requests. By asking for either of these departments, you will be sure to actually get a Disney Cast Member at the Front Desk of your resort to help with your requests, not just an operator answering the phone calls for the resort.
Many forums and websites list a fax number for the Disney Resorts, where you can fax over your requests. This is another way to make your requests, but we have found that talking with a Cast Member is a better way to make sure your requests are on your reservation and granted. Sometimes faxes are not received or mis-placed. Talking with a person, ensures your requests are at least added to your reservation.
As you will hear anytime you make a request, these are not guaranteed. Disney Resorts do an excellent job of granting requests, but requests are not guaranteed. Check out our ebook for a list of phone numbers to the Disney Resorts.
