Recently some of our agents took a site tour at the popular Gaylord Palms Hotel. This is a beautiful resort in Kissimmee, right outside the Walt Disney World Resort. This hotel offers excellent rates throughout the year, with some rates as low as $99 per night. Sometimes these low rates attract guests to stay off property. During this visit, we were reminded that low hotel rates do not mean you are actually saving money on your whole vacation.
This hotel had some hidden costs that guests often forget to ask about including service/resort fees or parking fees. The parking fee at Gaylord Palms is $12 per night for self parking and $18 per night for valet parking. We also had to pay additional money for parking at the Disney Theme Parks which is $11 per day. For our weekend trip we ended up paying an additional $100 on parking fees at the hotel and Disney Theme Parks.
Expenses like these are often overlooked in planning a Disney World and Orlando vacation. When planning your visit to Orlando, be sure to price in all aspects of the hotel from service fees, resort fees, Internet access to parking fees. You want to get the most of our Orlando vacation, so be sure to check all of the details before booking.
